In this article, you will learn how to add and configure a fixed time and date countdown timer inside your page editor layout.

What you will need:

  • A SystemeScale account
  • An active page layout

Step 1: Adding a countdown element

A countdown timer helps create urgency for promotional deals, launches, or live event openings.

1
Drag and drop the element
Open your page editor canvas. Look at the left-hand panel, find the Countdown element, then drag and drop it onto your page layout.

Step 2: Configuring the timer parameters

Once the element is on your page, you can set it to count down to a specific calendar date.

2
Select the countdown type
Click on the countdown timer element inside the canvas to open its properties menu on the left side. From the Countdown type dropdown menu, select Fixed time and date.
3
Set your expiration deadline
Choose the exact expiration date and time details from the settings fields to define when the counter hits zero.

Step 3: Setting the action when the countdown expires

You can control what happens automatically the exact moment the timer reaches 00:00:00:00.

From the expiration settings section, choose one of these two actions:

  • Redirect the user to another page: Automatically forwards your visitor to an alternate URL (such as an organic waitlist page or an "offer closed" funnel step).
  • Do nothing: Keeps the page as is, displaying the expired timer at zero values.

Practical Timeline Example
If the current date is June 12, 2026, at 9:00 AM, and you set your target expiration timer for June 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM, the live preview loader will count down exactly 10 days and 1 hour remaining.
⚠️
Critical Post-Expiration Inactive Page Guardrail
Keep this operational rule in mind: after the calendar timeline crosses your set target limit, your original page content effectively expires. Unless you have specified an alternate page link to redirect users to after the timer reaches zero, visitors will land on a generic inactive funnel placeholder view. Always map out a redirect path for expired campaigns to maintain traffic control.
