How to create a course in SystemeScale

SystemeScale includes a fully hosted course builder β€” no third-party platform needed. Every course is structured as modules (sections) containing lectures (individual lessons). Students access everything through a branded course player at the domain you configure.

This guide walks you through the complete creation process β€” from naming your course to having your first lecture live and ready for students.

Step-by-step: creating your course

Go to Assets β†’ Courses
In the top navigation bar, hover over Assets and click Courses. This opens your course library where all your courses are listed.

Click Add a new course
The course creation form opens. You can create as many courses as your plan allows β€” each one is independent with its own structure, domain, and student list.

Fill in the course details and click Save
  • Name β€” the public title of your course (e.g. Email Marketing Mastery).
  • Domain β€” where students log in. Select a connected custom domain or use the default SystemeScale domain.
  • URL path β€” the course slug (e.g. /email-mastery). Use lowercase letters and hyphens only.
  • Theme β€” controls the visual style of the student course player interface.

Add your first module
Click Add module. Enter a module name β€” this is a section heading grouping related lectures (e.g. Week 1: Foundations or Module 1: Getting Started). Click Save. Add as many modules as your course requires.

Add lectures inside each module
Inside the module, click Add lecture. In the popup:
  • Name β€” the lecture title students see in the course player.
  • Delay β€” days before this lecture unlocks. Set to 0 for immediate access. Only relevant when drip content is enabled.
  • Enable comments β€” allows students to post questions directly on the lecture page.
  • Page template β€” the starting layout for the lecture content page.
Click Save.

Add content to each lecture
Click Edit on any lecture to open the page editor. Drag elements from the left panel:
  • Video β€” upload an MP4 file, or paste a YouTube or Vimeo URL.
  • Text β€” lesson notes, summaries, or written instructions.
  • Image β€” diagrams, screenshots, or supporting visuals.
  • Button β†’ Download file β€” attach a PDF workbook, checklist, or downloadable resource.
Click Save in the editor when done.

Activate all lectures and modules
Every lecture and module has an active/inactive toggle. Inactive items are completely hidden from students β€” they do not appear in the course player at all. Toggle every lecture and module you want students to see to Active before enrolling anyone.

After creating lectures, always verify each one is toggled to Active. Students who enrol in a course where lectures are inactive will see an empty course. If a student reports missing content, check the activation status of every lecture and module first.

Choosing the right access type

Before your course goes live, decide how students receive content. Set the access type in the course settings: Assets β†’ Courses β†’ your course β†’ Settings.

All lectures are available immediately on enrolment. Best for self-paced courses where students set their own pace.

Drip content
Lectures unlock gradually based on delays you set per lecture. Ideal for structured weekly programmes. Students receive email notifications as each lecture unlocks.

Only specific modules are visible. Useful for preview access, tiered memberships, or granting selective content to different student groups.

After creating your course

With your structure built and lectures activated, your next step depends on how you want to distribute it.
