In this article, you will learn how to create a light course format using SystemeScale to launch simple, clean courses fast.

What you will need:

What is a light course?

A light course is a streamlined course format built directly inside your creator store ecosystem. Unlike our classic course builder layout, it is structurally optimized for speed and structural ease of use, allowing you to seamlessly create, upload content, and sell products right from your mobile phone interface.

The difference between classic courses and light courses

SystemeScale provides two distinct course frameworks tailored to your educational delivery style:

  • Classic courses: Built inside Assets > Courses. They require a desktop view to leverage the full block drag-and-drop course builder. Choose this if you want absolute layout customization control with advanced visual design styles.
  • Light courses: Created directly inside your Creator store interface. They feature a clean, mobile-friendly text editor. Choose this if you prefer a simplified, focus-driven layout that is exceptionally fast to build and frictionless for students to consume on any device.

Creating a light course

1
Initiate store product setup
Navigate to the Sites tab on your dashboard and click Creator stores. Choose your active store view, then click the Add new product button. Select the Sell a course configuration.
2
Configure thumbnail layout details
In the Thumbnail tab, define your custom product presentation settings: upload a header cover image, set the display title text, customize your call-to-action button text, and insert a subtitle description. Click Next.
3
Build the light course framework
Switch to the Course settings tab and choose the Light course format option. You can link this setup to an existing curriculum record or click Create a new light course to input a clean Title and Description framework.
4
Add modules and lectures
Scroll down to the modules block interface and click Add module. Name your module inside the popup view and click save. Next, click Add lecture inside that module to populate your lesson title and body text blocks. You can also upload a clean mp4 video asset or attach supplementary resource files directly.
5
Configure optional parameters and save
At the bottom of the lecture configuration card, you can adjust your engagement rules:

β€’ Comments: Toggle the Enable comments switch to allow community interaction or question threads right below the content.
β€’ Delay (Drip access): Input a specific number of days if you want to deliver this module milestone gradually over time instead of all at once.

Click Save to commit your adjustments. A "Drip" tag layout will automatically label the lecture elements if an access delay rule is active. To modify or delete items later, simply click the three dots menu next to the module or lecture card.

Selling your light course

SystemeScale provides two distinct methods to monetize your new light course product:

Method A: Selling via your Creator Store

Click Next to advance to your Checkout interface parameters. Customize your card layouts by adding an Image, Title, Button text, and a compelling marketing Description. Under the Collect info segment, choose which customer data fields to request (note that Email and First name inputs are mandatory core structures).

In the price plans module, click the Plus (+) button to select an existing price framework or configure a new recurring subscription, split payment, or one-time payment. Map your preferred currency gateways via Set payment methods, design your post-purchase text under the Thank you page tab, customize your instructor profile parameters, and click Publish to go live instantly.

Method B: Selling via Sales Funnels

You can seamlessly integrate light courses into advanced marketing funnels using traditional checkout forms, order bumps, or up-sells.

1
Add course as an order form resource
Open your funnel page settings, select your Order form step, ensure the product setting is configured to Digital product, and click the plus button. Under the Resources section configuration, click the plus button and choose Courses from the selection menu.
2
Map access rules and pricing
Select your active light course from the dropdown options list and choose your delivery model access type (e.g., Full access or Partial access). Finally, scroll to the pricing plans section block, click the plus button to tie a pricing plan token to the checkout sheet, and click Save at the top right to deploy the funnel changes.
⚠️
Funnel Dropdown Requirement
Only light course products that are explicitly set to an active status inside your store settings will populate inside your funnel resource mapping selection lists.
