In this article, you will learn how to set up a countdown timer with a fixed delay. This type of timer counts down a unique, specific amount of time per individual visitor to create personalized urgency.

What you will need:

  • A SystemeScale account
  • A page to edit

Step 1: Adding the countdown element

A delay timer is perfect for evergreen funnels, giving every new visitor an equal, limited window to claim an offer from the exact moment they land on your layout.

1
Drag and drop the countdown component
Open your page editor canvas view. From the left sidebar panel options, find the Countdown element, then drag and drop it onto your active page area.

Step 2: Configuring the timer settings

Once the element is dropped onto your page layout, you can adjust its countdown mechanism properties:

2
Change the type to Delay
Click directly on your newly added countdown timer element inside the canvas to open its properties sidebar on the left. Locate the Countdown type dropdown menu field row, and change it to Delay.
3
Define your custom duration length
Use the duration input fields to set the exact days, hours, minutes, and seconds allocation values you want to give each unique visitor.

Duration Load Example
If you configure your duration parameters to 10 days, 10 hours, 10 minutes, and 30 seconds, the live loader interface will display exactly 10:10:10:30 the moment your page initially opens for a brand new user.

Step 3: Setting the action when the countdown expires

From your left settings panel options, attach one of these two expiration paths:

  • Redirect to another page: Forwards the visitor automatically to an alternate landing step URL.
  • Do nothing: The timer simply pauses at 00:00:00:00 values while keeping the visitor on your original page screen.
