In this article, you will learn how to set up the Facebook Conversions API on SystemeScale.

The Facebook Conversions API allows you to track conversions through your website’s server, rather than through your customer’s browser. Browser tracking is usually managed through the Meta Pixel.

Instead of tracking browser pixel events only, the Facebook Conversions API tracks server events.

Before you begin

Before setting up the Facebook Conversions API, make sure you have the required access and setup items ready.

  • Admin access to the Meta Business Manager where the Pixel is created or will be created.
  • Access to your business’s server-side tracking setup through SystemeScale.
  • A Meta Pixel. If you have not created one yet, set it up before continuing.
  • Facebook’s best practices for the Conversions API reviewed and understood.
ℹ️
The setup has two main parts
First, create personalized setup instructions inside Meta. Then, generate the access token and implement the Conversions API inside SystemeScale.

Step 1: Create personalized instructions for your website

Start inside Meta Business Manager to choose the Pixel, events, and parameters you want to send through the Conversions API.

1
Open Events Manager
In your Meta Business Manager profile, go to Events Manager.
2
Open Data sources
Click the Data sources icon on the left side of the page.
3
Select your Pixel
Select the Data Source or Pixel you want to connect to the Conversions API, then click Add Events below the activity graph.
4
Choose Conversions API setup
Select Using the Conversions API, then click Set up manually.
5
Select the events to send
Select the events you want to send through the Conversions API. Use the dropdown menu for event recommendations based on your business type, then click Continue.
πŸ’‘
Example events
For example, you may choose events such as Lead and PageView, depending on what you want to track.
6
Select event parameters
Select the parameters you want to send for each event. You need to select at least one customer information parameter, then click Continue.
7
Review and finish
Review your events and parameters, make sure there are green checkmarks next to every step, then click Finish.

Step 2: Implement the Conversions API

After creating your personalized instructions, generate the access token and connect it to your SystemeScale domain settings.

1
Return to Events Manager
Go to Events Manager.
2
Open Data sources
Click the Data sources icon on the left side of the page.
3
Select the Pixel ID
Select the Pixel ID that you chose to connect with the Conversions API.
4
Open Manage Integrations
Click Manage Integrations.
5
Start sending server events
Click Manage next to your Conversions API, then click Start sending events from server.
6
Generate the access token
Click Get started, then click Generate Access Token. Copy your access token and keep it somewhere safe for later use.
πŸ”
Keep your access token private
Your access token allows server-side event tracking for your Pixel. Copy it carefully and store it securely.
7
Open Custom Domains in SystemeScale
In your SystemeScale account, click your profile picture in the top right corner, then go to Settings > Custom Domains.
8
Open the domain settings
Click the three dots next to your domain and select Settings.
9
Add your Pixel ID and token
Add your Pixel ID, found in Facebook Events Manager under Data Sources, then paste the access token you saved earlier.
10
Save the setup
Click Save to store your Facebook Conversions API settings.

Step 3: Test the Conversions API

After implementation, test whether the Facebook Conversions API is working correctly on your site.

1
Open Test Events
In Facebook Business Manager, go to Events Manager > Data Sources > Your Pixel > Test Events.
2
Follow Meta’s prompts
Follow the prompts provided by Facebook and complete all the events that you are tracking on your website.
3
Confirm server events
Check that the expected server events appear in Meta Events Manager.

Step 4: Add Conversions API events to your pages

Finally, add the corresponding event to every page you want to track using the Conversions API.

1
Open the page editor
Open the page where you want to track an event using the Conversions API.
2
Open page Settings
Go to Settings while editing the page.
3
Select the corresponding event
Add the corresponding event for that page so SystemeScale can send the correct server-side event to Meta.
🧩
Use the right event for each page
For accurate tracking, choose the event that matches what happens on that page, such as a lead registration, page view, or purchase.
