This page explains how to refresh your page's metadata if the wrong image, title, or description appears when sharing on social media.

When to use metadata debugging

If you have shared the link to your page on social networks and the image, title, or description displayed does not correspond to the SEO configurations you have set up on SystemeScale, you must request a debug from the social network on which the problem appeared.

The advantage of using debug links is that it allows you to update and refresh the SEO part of a page.

🧩
What metadata debugging does
Social platforms often cache a page’s image, title, and description. Debugging asks the platform to fetch the page again so the preview can update.

Refresh your preview on Facebook or Meta

Let's take the example of the page https://www.systemescale.com/ and the Facebook debug link below:

https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

1
Open the Facebook debug link
2
Paste your page URL
Paste your page URL into the field and click Debug to preview how your page will look on Facebook.
3
Scrape again if the preview is wrong
If the preview doesn't match the settings you configured in SystemeScale, click the Scrape Again button to refresh the preview metadata.

Refresh your preview on LinkedIn

Each social network has its own debug link. For example, you can use the LinkedIn debug link below:

https://www.linkedin.com/post-inspector/

Paste your page URL into the LinkedIn Post Inspector to preview and refresh the way LinkedIn reads your page metadata.

Find debugger tools for other platforms

To find tools for other platforms, search online for [Platform Name] debugger.

πŸ”
Use the platform where the problem appeared
If the preview is wrong on Facebook, use Meta Sharing Debugger. If the preview is wrong on LinkedIn, use LinkedIn Post Inspector. Each platform maintains its own cached preview.

Additional note

When you experience this kind of problem, be aware that it can also be related to the search engines or browsers used, so we recommend that you always update them to the latest version.

πŸ“
Metadata changes may not appear instantly everywhere
After you update page SEO settings and run a debugger, some platforms may still take a little time to refresh the preview across all locations.
