In this article, you will learn how to add CNAME and domain forwarding records inside your GoDaddy DNS dashboard to link your custom domain.

What you will need:

  • A SystemeScale account
  • A domain name purchased from GoDaddy

Step 1: Declare your domain in your portal account

1
Profile picture → Settings → Custom Domains → Add domain
Hover over your profile photo in the top right, select Settings, click Custom Domains, and click Add domain to input your address parameters.

Once declared, your dashboard will display two distinct CNAME rows (unique keys and target paths) that need to be mapped into your host DNS zone records.

Step 2: Add your CNAME configurations inside GoDaddy

2
GoDaddy → DNS Records → Add New Record
Log into your GoDaddy profile. Navigate to your domain, click the DNS Records tab, then click Add New Record.

A. Configure your First CNAME entry

  • Type: Select CNAME.
  • Name: Input www.
  • Value: Paste your system-provided Cloudfront path (e.g., d3bt5p0vcddwkd.cloudfront.net).
  • Click Save.
ℹ️
Handling Pre-Existing Entry Conflicts
If a default CNAME record with host name www already exists, do not create a new one. Click the inline edit icon and change its destination value to your system-provided Cloudfront string.

B. Configure your Second CNAME entry

Click Add New Record again:

  • Type: Select CNAME.
  • Name: Paste the token string that appears before your domain name in your account panel (e.g., _cf609c2bb606ce8f507b0a0e99595a1c).
  • Value: Paste the matching security path token (e.g., _835816fa9babb4f145284a3d8a3b63d6.zfyfvmchrl.acm-validations.aws.).
  • Click Save.

Step 3: Add a root domain redirect forwarding rule

3
Forwarding → Add Forwarding
On your GoDaddy DNS settings page, scroll down to the Forwarding section and click Add Forwarding for a domain name link.

Configure the forwarding rule:

  • Select https:// from the protocol dropdown.
  • Destination URL: Input your complete domain with prefix (e.g., www.yourdomain.com).
  • Forward type: Select Permanent (301).
  • Click Save.

Verifying your records activation
Monitor propagation at dnschecker.org. Enter your full subdomain (e.g., www.yourdomain.com), select CNAME, and verify your system paths show green validation checkboxes.
⚠️
Propagation timelines and conflicting host logs
DNS propagation can take 24–48 hours worldwide. If your host shows a validation error, check for pre-existing conflicting A or AAAA records. Contact GoDaddy support to safely remove old default records.
Selling inventory assets directly through your domain
Now that your custom domain is connected, map out your offer catalogs. Learn how to create and sell physical products inside your pipelines.
