What you will need:
- A SystemeScale account
- A domain name purchased from Namecheap
β οΈ
Complete the first domain step before continuing
Please follow the first step in the general domain connection article before completing this Namecheap setup.
π
Start with the domain connection guide
Add your root domain to SystemeScale first, then return here to complete the Namecheap DNS records.
Step 1: Add your domain in SystemeScale
1
Open Custom Domains
Hover over your profile picture, click Settings, go to Custom Domains, and add
www.yourdomain.com.βΉοΈ
Your own CNAME values
Each domain added to SystemeScale has its own unique CNAME records. The values shown in this guide are examples only β copy the exact records from your SystemeScale account.
Step 2: Add the first CNAME record in Namecheap
1
Open Advanced DNS
Go to Domain List in Namecheap, click the Advanced DNS tab for your domain, then click Add new record.
2
Add the www CNAME
Select CNAME Record. Enter
www in the Host field, and the CloudFront value from your SystemeScale account in the Value field. Confirm with the green checkmark.π
If a www CNAME already exists
Edit its value to the CloudFront target provided by SystemeScale instead of creating a new record.
Step 3: Add the second CNAME record in Namecheap
1
Add a validation CNAME
Click Add new record, select CNAME Record. In the Host field, paste the validation token from your SystemeScale account. In the Value field, paste the ACM validation path. Confirm with the green checkmark.
β οΈ
Use your own generated records
Copy the exact CNAME records shown in your own SystemeScale account.
Step 4: Check CNAME propagation
1
Verify at dnschecker.org
Enter the full CNAME name including your domain. You should see the matching value next to a green checkmark for both records.
Step 5: Set a Redirect Record
1
Add URL Redirect Record
In Advanced DNS, click Add new record, select URL Redirect Record. Enter
@ as the Host, https://www.yourdomain.com as the Value, select Permanent (301), confirm with the green checkmark.Step 6: Add an ALIAS record if the redirect does not work
1
Add ALIAS record
In Advanced DNS, add a new record. Select ALIAS Record. Enter
@ as Host, the value from your first CNAME record as the Value, set TTL to Automatic or lowest available, and save.β³
DNS propagation can take time
DNS records can take up to 24β48 hours to propagate completely.
β οΈ
Resolve conflicting DNS records
If your host cannot register a CNAME due to a conflict, contact Namecheap to determine whether the existing records can be safely deleted.
