This guide shows you how to create a custom 404 page for a connected domain in SystemeScale.

Accessing the custom domain settings

Click on your profile picture, then click on Settings.

Click Custom domains in the left panel. Next, click the three dots (...) menu for your domain and select Settings.

🌐
Custom 404 pages are domain-based
The 404 page is managed from the settings of the specific custom domain you select.

Opening the 404 page editor

In the Domain settings popup, click Edit 404 page to open the editor.

Customizing the 404 page

In the page editor, drag elements from the panel on the left and drop them onto your page. Make changes as needed by editing element styles and properties.

Click Save to apply your changes.

⚠️
Raw HTML preview note
Raw HTML does not appear in Preview mode. It will only be visible on the live page.

Recommended 404 page elements

A useful 404 page should help visitors recover quickly instead of leaving your site. Consider adding a short explanation, a button back to your homepage, links to important pages, and a way to contact support if needed.

βœ…
Keep the page simple
A 404 page works best when it clearly tells visitors the page was not found and gives them an obvious next step.
