How to integrate your Mercado Pago account in SystemeScale
In this article, you will learn how to integrate your Mercado Pago account with SystemeScale.
What you'll need
- A SystemeScale account
- A Mercado Pago account. You can create a Mercado Pago account here.
Connect Mercado Pago in SystemeScale
To connect your SystemeScale account to your Mercado Pago account, click on your profile picture and then Settings.
Next, in the menu on the left side of your page, click Payment Gateways.
In the payment gateways section, click Connect for the Mercado Pago option.
Enter the Mercado Pago connection fields
In the popup that appears, you will be asked to fill in the following fields:
- API Public Key
- Access Token
- Country
Generate the Mercado Pago credentials
To generate your production credentials, log into your Mercado Pago account and follow these steps:
Create the application
On the new screen, complete the application setup:
- Assign a name to your application.
- Select the Online Payments option.
- In Select the platform where you will be doing the integration, select Other platforms.
- Authorize the use of your personal data.
- Select the reCAPTCHA.
- Click Confirm.
Enable production credentials
Click Enable Credentials.
To activate production credentials, complete the required information:
- Select an industry or sector that best applies to your business.
- Add your business website, if needed. This is optional.
- Authorize the use of your personal data.
- Select the reCAPTCHA.
- Click the blue Enable production credentials button.
Mercado Pago should now have generated the production credentials you need:
- Public Key
- Access Token
These are the credentials you need to enter in your SystemeScale account to connect your Mercado Pago account as a payment method.
Save the credentials in SystemeScale
After generating your application and credentials, go back to your SystemeScale account, enter them, select the correct Country, and click Save.
Configuring the IPN Webhooks in Mercado Pago
Once the integration is done, you will receive a webhook URL that must be entered into your Mercado Pago account dashboard to allow SystemeScale to process payment events.
Copy the webhook URL provided by SystemeScale during the previous integration step.
Configure notification settings
Click Configure notifications.
Select the Production Mode tab and enter the webhook URL generated by SystemeScale in the Production URL field.
In the Recommended events for integrations with Checkout Pro field, select Payments.
In the Other events field, select Plans and subscriptions.
Finally, click Save settings.
A popup window will be displayed to save the webhook notification settings. Click Save to confirm the action.
Mandatory payment page fields
The fields Email, Last name, First name, and Tax number are mandatory on your payment pages for a payment to be successfully processed by Mercado Pago.
Country, currency, and refund limitations
- Only one country can be selected to integrate a Mercado Pago account: Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, or Argentina.
- Linking a Mercado Pago account allows you to create prices in the local currency of that account, such as Brazilian Reais or Colombian Pesos.
- Due to Mercado Pago limitations, it is not possible to process refunds through SystemeScale.
What happens when a Mercado Pago payment fails?
Cards: three attempts will be made. The delay between each attempt cannot be modified. To find out the delay between each attempt, contact Mercado Pago support.
Boleto and Pix: there will be three attempts, spaced 7 days apart.
