Modules are the top-level sections of your course — containers that group related lectures together. A typical course might have 4–8 modules, each representing a week, topic, or phase of the learning journey. This guide covers creating, renaming, reordering, and deleting modules.

Adding a new module

1
Go to your course
Assets → Courses → open your course. The course editor shows your existing modules and lectures.
2
Click Add module
The module creation popup appears.
3
Enter the module name and save
Give the module a clear, descriptive name (e.g. Week 1: Foundations, Module 3: Advanced Techniques). Click Save.
4
Activate the module
Toggle the module to Active. Inactive modules are hidden from students even if their lectures are active.

Renaming a module

  • Click the three-dot menu (⋮) next to the module name.
  • Select Edit or Rename.
  • Enter the new name → click Save.

Reordering modules

Hover over a module until the drag handle (six dots icon) appears on the left side. Click and drag the module to its new position. Release to drop. Students see modules in the order you set here. See also: How to reorder lectures and modules.

Deleting a module

  • Click the three-dot menu (⋮) next to the module name.
  • Select Delete.
  • Confirm the deletion.
⚠️
Deleting a module deletes all its lectures
When you delete a module, all lectures inside it are permanently deleted along with their content. This cannot be undone. If you want to keep the lectures, move them to another module first or duplicate the course before deleting.
💡
Use a logical naming convention from the start
A consistent pattern makes your course easier to navigate as it grows. Choose one convention — e.g. Module X: Topic Name or Week X: Topic Name — and apply it throughout. Students find it easier to track their progress through a consistently labelled structure.
