How to send customers a link to update their credit cards
This guide will walk you through how to send customers a link to update their credit cards.
What you'll need
- A SystemeScale account
- At least one sale made
For payments made with Stripe
To send a customer a credit card update link for a Stripe subscription, start from the transaction record connected to that customer.
Open the customer transaction
Go to the Sales tab and click Transactions.
Enter the customer's email address into the search field and click Filter. Next, click on the email address that appears in the results.
Open the subscription action
On the customer's page, scroll down to the Subscriptions section on the same page.
Click the three dots, then click Change credit card details.
Copy and send the update link
On the payment update page that opens, copy the URL from the address bar and send it to the customer.
For payments made with PayPal
Customers paying via PayPal cannot update their payment method for an existing subscription.
They must cancel their current plan and start a new subscription using their new payment information.
