How to send SMS messages in SystemeScale
In this article, you will learn how to send SMS messages from your SystemeScale account using the SMS feature integrated with Twilio.
This feature allows you to reach your contacts via SMS using automation rules and workflows. You can create message templates, view SMS performance statistics, and manage all related actions directly from your SystemeScale dashboard.
Step 1: Connect your Twilio account
Before you can start sending SMS messages, you need to connect your Twilio account to SystemeScale.
Twilio is a trusted platform that powers many SMS apps and helps manage compliant SMS delivery.
Step 2: Create SMS templates
Next, create SMS templates that you can send through automation rules and workflows.
Go to SMS in the top menu, then click SMS Templates.
SMS sender type options
When creating an SMS template, select the sender type that fits your use case. You have three options:
- Sender phone number: Send from a specific phone number available in your connected Twilio account.
- Alphanumeric Sender ID: Send one-way messages using your brand name, such as
CompanyXYZ. - Messaging Services: Use a pre-configured service from your Twilio account that automatically selects the best sender for each recipientβs country to help improve global delivery rates.
Personalization and message length
You can use personalization substitutes to make SMS messages more relevant to each recipient.
Personalization substitutes are replaced with the recipientβs information when the SMS is sent. This can affect the final message length and SMS cost.
The maximum message length allowed is 1600 characters.
Step 3: Automate SMS messages
You can automate SMS messages using the Send SMS action.
This action is available in both automation rules and workflows.
Using automation rules
Automation rules are useful when you want a specific trigger to immediately send an SMS template.
You can also create a new SMS template by clicking the Add + icon, or edit an existing template by clicking the pencil icon.
Using workflows
Workflows are useful when you want to combine SMS messages with delays, decisions, conditions, tags, email actions, and other automated steps.
Once configured, SystemeScale automatically sends the SMS message to the corresponding contact whenever the automation rule or workflow is triggered.
Step 4: Track SMS performance
You can monitor SMS activity from the Statistics page under the SMS menu.
There, you can view key metrics such as:
- Total number of messages sent
- Average delivery rate
- Average failure rate
At the bottom of the page, you can also view a list of all sent messages.
View template-level SMS statistics
By clicking a specific SMS template, you can access detailed statistics for that message.
Template-level statistics can include:
- Delivery status
- Recipient phone numbers
- The date each SMS was sent
- The links contained in the SMS
Important notes
- SMS costs and delivery are managed directly through Twilio, depending on your country and plan.
- Make sure your funnels and forms include a phone number field so you can collect contactsβ numbers before sending SMS messages.
- Anyone with a Twilio account can connect it to SystemeScale and start sending SMS messages.
